oh, whoa! i can't believe i forgot to write this. i'm moving away! i got a job in japan! japan!!!!! i rocked the first interview, but i thought i completely screwed up my second interview because i had to go there directly after school. i was still all flustered from my day, and had mr. hoppy with me because the school gets too cold at night so i take him home. in the second interview, the interviewer was like, "ok so here's a page from the student workbook. you have 8 minutes to create a lesson teaching the objective of differentiating between the past perfect tense and the past perfect continuous tense. the i will come back in as a japanese stundet and you will teach the lesson for 6 minutes. you may use this legal pad, the flip chart and markers to prepare." then he left. yikes! so, first, i sort of missed the objective. i got it half right. but i smiled a lot. after the timer rang, he started the actual interview with a breakdown of my strengths and weaknesses as a teacher. not that i wasn't completely rattled by this point. then, after i left, i remembered that i wanted to them not to call my current employer. so i had to come back, with my frog and bag and everything, to ask him not to call my boss. i left thinking, well maybe next year. i guess i did a good job because they called back within a week! i'm going to japan! i have an apartment set up through the company and everything!
i haven't told my principal yet. he still has one more observation, so we'll see what happens. after that observation, i'll tell him.
. . . tell him i'm going to japan! yipee!
