oh my god. ever had the urge to just sit in the dark, eat junk food, and watch "ghost world" repeatedly? yeah, it's been a "ghost world" kind of week. i decided that friday would be "new start friday!" for morning work, my kids had to practice handwriting by writing down our classroom rules in cursive. all day, whenever anyone acted up, i would say "do you know our rules, or do you have to be REMINDED?" that was threat that they would have to write them again. aha! threats worked for the most part. of course my kids still can't walk in line properly. i made them walk up and down the hallway, pulling the kids that were doing it right to stand with me, and letting the wacky ones practice some more. my vice principal was walking by and saw my ineffective management of line walking and corrected my kids. i wanted to be swallowed by the floor. the end of the day is also a bad point. on friday, in the hustle and bustle of the end of the day, one of my girls managed to flip herself over in her chair. i looked over and saw two legs flailing through the air before crashing to the ground, bringing down half the stuff on my desk. half a dozen other kids jumped up out of their chairs screaming "call 911!!!" and "get the paramedics!!!" t.g.i.f! before they left, i told them "ok guys, monday is a new week. new week new start!" one of my kids said "you told us the same thing last friday."
