I have finished my first week of in-service/teacher training. Today I got a bunch of math manipulatives. That was pretty sweet. There is still more to come! It's being mailed to my school site. I'm very nervous about language arts. I'm used to having one big group and planning one lesson for everyone. I'm also used to second grade. Now I have fourth graders that I need to sort into reading groups so that I can work with each ability level WHILE managing the rest of my class EVEN THOUGH I will be unavailable to help anyone out of the group. I have a completely new reading series and teaching style that I'm supposed to employ.

Very nervous.

I've also managed to misplace all of my letters from my insurance companies. I really need that stuff. I didn't even open the packets! I really need to clean my apartment.

Today it rained very heavily. Rain here is an everyday thing, but today it was crazy! It hailed! It's 100 degrees outside! I ran outside to put some blankets over my fantastic new (to me) car. I discovered it's impossible to hold an umbrella AND put blankets over a car. I chose the car. Unfortunately, I was soaked in a matter of seconds, becoming a one woman wet t-shirt contest. All anyone would have had to do was glance outside and, hello nipples! I figure, hey, everybody's got them. Some people even have three.

Right now, I am IMing with this guy I met through an online personal. We've been chatting for a couple months, but we've never met. We were supposed to meet up for dinner a week ago, but he never called to iron out the details. I saw him a couple days later online and said, hey thanks for calling. He seemed very apologetic and said he'd call. He didn't. Now he's telling me he did call, but got a machine and doesn't "like to leave messages." I'm thinking he's a jackass. I've decided to have a no jackass policy. At this first incident of jackassiness, I'm very hesitant to keep talking to this guy.

Speaking of guys, I really miss a guy friend from college. He's off in another state right now and I never get to talk to him anymore. We used to hang out all the time. I really miss that.
