you know, i signed on to look something up, but damned if i know what that was....hell......
anyway, i told my principal i was leaving. he had a phone book on his desk when i walked in. i said "i want to let you know that i've been offered a position teaching in english in japan-"
him (cutting me off): japan! that's far away.
me:..yeah, i'm pretty excited about it. it's such an increadible opportunity...
at this point, i realize he has gone back to flipping through the phone book. oooookay.
me: ...so, i'm telling them today...and i wanted to let you now as well..
i seriously wanted to yell "what the crap are you looking up! hello? i'm still here!"
him (looking up): well....hmm...i always respect a person who can...ahhh...really take those opportunities in life....hmmm. so thanks for letting me know.
me:....
him:.....
me: ok, so just letting you know
so i left. par for the course, huh? jeez...
so, i've been trying like crazy to get all my doctor's appointments in. this may be personal, but what the hell. i had to go the "lady-doctor." i'm such a puritan. so, the doctor told me i could undress and put on the paper robe and sit on the table and he'd be right back. i noticed the venitian blinds were open slightly which freaks me out, but i figured, the building is set back, it's the second floor...whatever. so he came back and i had fabulous paper ensamble and he listened to me heart. then i had to lay down and he listened again. here's the thing, he slid the stethoscope under the paper very carefully, so as not to expose me. i just thought, "well he's being awfully formal considering where this is going." the thought stuck me as so hilarious, i burst into giggles and couldn't stop. i'm such a dork. after i left, i looked up at the buiding. you know what? you CAN see through the blinds. ewwwwww!!!!!
in another, off-color, situation, it was teacher appreciation week at school. one of my kids got me thins cute little octopus back massager. i was flipping though cosmo and, apparently, it's not a cute little massager. it's the free gift with order of the "adult toy" catalogue. it's called "the octopussy." ewwwwwwwwwww!!!!!
